The vinyl comes housed in a glossy jacket with an unreleased photo of the band. Each copy includes a reproduction of a promotional poster with lyrics from 1981 designed by Mike Coles, the Malicious Damage house artist responsible for the label's iconic album and single covers.

Formed in 1979 by singer Ian Lowery and guitarist Nick Clift, the band played moody, epic, angular music. Active until late 1981, Ski Patrol's musical and lyrical output mirrored the dub-reggae influences of their Brixton and Ladbroke Grove home-bases, the civil unrest of post-punk Britain and the freedom to push aside the rock rulebook as had been done by their peers PiL and Gang Of Four.

They self-released their first single in early 1980 with the help of Rough Trade and came to the attention of Malicious Damage, a label & management operation, formed to release the early works of Killing Joke. This association produced the band's biggest success, the 1980 indie chart hit Agent Orange (featuring Killing Joke's Jaz Coleman on synth).

Versions Of A Life collects Ski Patrol's recorded output in one place for the first time. This anthology also shines a light on the darkly comic, paranoid, often elegiac gutter poetry of the late Ian Lowery, who passed away in 2001. Including the band's first two singles, previously unreleased mixes of their third single and three unreleased songs from their last studio session. All songs are remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley.

Dark Entries digs deep into the UK Goth underground to unearth The Danse Society 'Demos Vol. 1.'

The band formed in Barnsley, England in 1980 from the remnants of local post-punk bands Y? and Lips-X. Between 1980 and 1982 the band released a handful of 7' and 12' EPs and the debut album 'Seduction' on their own independent label, Society Records. The band also recorded several sessions for Radio 1, including a John Peel session, and topped the Independent Charts with the single 'Somewhere.' Their commercial debut, 'Heaven Is Waiting' was released in February 1984. They released two further singles and the album 'Looking Through' before breaking up in 1986. After 24 years three original band members reunited to record the new album 'Change of Skin,' released in July 2011.

1983 was The Danse Society's year. Playing sold out tours and the success of 'Seduction' won them a recording contract with Arista Records. Spending their advance on new equipment the band recorded an album's worth of demos in one day at Greenhouse Studios, London in May 1983.

The line-up for this session was Steve Rawlings (vocals), Paul Nash (guitar), Lyndon Scarfe (keyboards), Tim Wright (bass) and Paul Gilmartin (drums). Doom laden guitar riffs, swirling synthesizers, crushing drums, driving and disembodied vocals, characterize the distinctive Society sound. 'Demos Vol. 1' is the closest you'll get to The Danse Society live experience. You can almost taste the dry ice, feel the power coming through the monitors, and become entranced by the strobe-induced madness this album embodies. The Danse Society operate in a raw, atmospheric realm less campy than many of their Goth Rock peers, unconcerned with pop charts or commercial appeal. These aren't songs, they are commands.

This 11 track collection includes an early version of the single 'Wake Up,' 5 demos that would make the cut for 'Heaven Is Waiting,'3 songs that would later become B-sides and 2 unreleased instrumentals. All songs have been remastered from the original tapes for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA. Each LP includes a fold-out, double-sided newsprint poster with photos, lyrics and liner notes by original drummer Paul Gilmartin and music journalist Mick Mercer. 28 years later these demos capture a band at the height of their confident, powerful and haunting glory.

The Product were a duo from the small villages Kvistgaard and Espergaerde, in the north of Denmark. Dan Stielow Mortazavi wrote the lyrics and sang while Kenneth Neuhaus composed the music and played the instruments. They met in the Autumn of 1982 and recorded their sole album Alive Again over a weekend. It was self-released on cassette in 1983 and limited to 50 copies.

Alive Again features 11 songs recorded in two short live takes directly onto one cassette. The Product employed a basic set up of Micromoog, Roland JX-3P and TR-606 Drumatix. Nine of the songs employ only these two synthesizers and drum machine while two songs feature a guest bassist. With these three instruments they crafted melodic, icy electronic rhythms with detached vocals. They were influenced by UK post-punk bands Second Layer, This Heat, Wire, Gary Numan, Fad Gadget and most noticeably The Cure's Pornography and Faith albums. Lyrics revolve around growing up in broken homes, alienation and romance.

Each song has been carefully remastered from the original cassette master for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in a jacket with original cassette cover art by Jesper Rask as well as an insert with lyrics and photos. This the first time since the original cassette issues that the music of The Product is appearing on vinyl format . Alive Again is a sneak peak into the world of Danish post punk bedroom cassettes.

Trek with Quintronic are the duo of Paul Wilcox (Trek) and David Kane (Quintronic). Formed from the ashes of prog rock band Masque in 1979, they moved from Buffalo, NY to New Hope, PA with contacts in the Philadelphia music scene. They recorded two pioneering albums of unique electronic rock, 'Landing' LP from 1980, and the self-titled follow-up Trek w/ Quintronic LP in 1981.

'Landing Plus' compiles the complete discography of Trek with Quintronic on a double vinyl for the first time in over 30 years. The band utilized a synthesizer-heavy set up using a Roland CompuRhythm CR-78 drum machine, ,Yamaha CS-60, Minimoog, effect pedals and guitar. All songs on the album are strictly electronic sounds, no piano or organ. Trek with Quintronic wrote songs with a powerful sound, myriads of compositional ideas, synthetic noises and catchy melodies. Paul's rather unique vocals lie somewhere between David Bowie and Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs.

This deluxe edition has been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. LP 1 is the Landing LP and LP 2 is the Trek w/ Quintronic LP. Each double LP set comes in a gatefold sleeve with 2 postcards featuring live photos, an instrument list and quotes. This collection highlights a lost duo with a big sound on par with Ultravox, Human League, OMD or Devo.

Van Kaye + Ignit is the Dutch duo of Ed Van Kasteren (Van Kaye) and Ignatine Bekken (Ignit), who joined forces in the city of Arnhem during early 1980. While at university, Van Kaye was the singer of The MoNoMeN, a local new wave band. By the end of 1979 he had become more interested in the use of electronics and rhythmic industrial patterns. In April 1980 he released a demo cassette with 30 minutes of his own work titled 'A Slight Delay'.

While experimenting with synthesizers and developing extreme sounds, he met Ignit, who had previously worked in the fields of art and performance. Together they recorded their first 4 songs with guest musician Williem Wisselink (Wizzkopf) in the summer of 1981, and released the 'Picassos on the Wall 7' later that year on their own Ding Dong label. Van Kaye + Ignit then began work on their debut 60 minute cassette album, 'A Slight Delay.'

Like the 7', all songs were recorded and mixed by Van Kaye at his home studio on a TEAC A-3440 four-track recorder. Self-released in 1981, the album pairs conceptual sophistication with disarming naïveté in a way that has been difficult to replicate since the formative years of bedroom'electronic music. Both members handle vocals (or non-vocals), and songs feature everything from new wave riffs to slowly shifting oscillator buzzes and eerie electronics over mechanical rhythms.

This reissue includes the entire 11-track original c-60 cassette 'A Slight Delay', as well as all 4 tracks from the 'Picassos on the Wall 7' spread across two vinyl discs. For the first time ever, the original 1/4' master tapes have been transferred and remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley.

The jacket is a replica based on the original 'A Slight Delay' cassette artwork, which was designed by the Van Kaye, with a hand-colored textured photograph resized and laid out by Eloise Leigh. Each album includes an 8O?14 double sided insert with photos, lyrics, liner notes by the band, and a fold-out poster.

Bay Area Retrograde (BART) Volume 2 is Dark Entries' second compilation of underground music from San Francisco (and the greater Bay Area) made between 1978-1983.

Towards the end of the 70s, San Francisco's experimental music scene clashed with the aftermath of punk and gave birth to a vibrant underground. By the early to mid 80s the DIY music scene of the Bay Area was a hotbed for experimental and quirky new wave, post punk, and synthpop, quite similar to New York's No Wave scene and Berlin's Neue Deutsche Welle.

This compilation connects the (transit) lines between these varied musical offerings and tells the secret story of eleven forgotten Bay Area bands. BART Volume 2 features slow, dystopian horror from pioneering industrial group Factrix; crushing, motorik noise from acid punks Chrome; amphetamine-driven synth punk from Red Asphalt; an early demo, never released on vinyl, from legendary post punk band Tuxedoomon; chilling atmospheric drone from Ki Di Me; leftfield new wave from Indoor Life featuring Patrick Cowley on synths;  Los Microwaves more sinister side project Baby Buddha; gay drag icon Timmy Spence delivering an unknown camp classic, a pure instrumental electro-pop workout from Human Being Men; TR-808 fueled synth pop from Menlo Park duo Wonders of Science, and a poetic yet somber and haunting song from the mysterious Zru Vogue. All tracks have been carefully remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley.

Each LP is housed in a large 6-panel, 2-sided fold out poster designed by Eloise Leigh, featuring original photos and fliers from each band's personal archive plus a 36x24 print of a photograph by Ruby Ray from1978. BART is the acronym for Bay Area Rapid Transit, the main rail transportation system for the San Francisco Bay Area.

This LP is by no means a definitive compilation but merely opens the tunnel to the underground of the Bay!

For our 55th release we are launching a special series called Dark Entries Editions, dedicated to 12" singles made for the dance floor. The first release in this series is Victrola, the duo of Antonio Eze Cuscinà and Carlo Smeriglio from Italy. The band formed in Messina, but later relocated to Florence to join the rich musical scene there with Neon, Pankow, Alexander Robotnick and Diaframma. Beginning as a 4-piece combo (two guitarists, bassist, drummer) in 1979, they slimmed down to a synthesizer and guitar-based duo a few years later.

Their sole release was the Maritime Tatami/A Game Of Despair EP, from 1983. Using an array of now-classic Roland synthesizers (TR 606, TR 303 Bassline, Juno 6) plus a Korg Polysix and Fender Stratocaster, they crafted two darkwave ballads. Maritime Tatami engulfs the listener with trance-inducing synth lines and melancholic vocals over its epic 8 minutes. Oblique minor-key bass lines provide an anchor while snappy, brittle 606 rhythms propel the track along. The lyrics tell the story of Tatami, a boy from a fishing town who yearns for a new life in the big city. A Game of Despair, on the flipside, is a haunting crawl through the eyes of a woman left by her lover. An angular guitar riff repeats hypnotically, as fragile icy synth lines chime emptily above it.

Each song has been carefully remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in an exact replication of the original jacket, and includes an insert with lyrics and never-before-seen photos. Victrola's only release is a truly singular and timeless masterpiece'?it's from a dimension of its own.

X RAY POP are the synth-pop duo of Doc Pilot and Zouka Dzaza from Tours, France. They got their start in the no wave art group Bocal 5 in 1981 and split off in 1984 to focus on their own brand of quirky synthesized electronics. Influenced by Erik Satie, Brigitte Bardot, Suicide and Young Marble Giants, they call their music 'minimum naive new wave.'

Armed with a Casio PT-20 keyboard and a rudimentary Yamaha MR10 drum machine they recorded their demo cassette and first 7 - " 'Eurasienne'/ 'La Machine à Rêver' in 1984. Upgrading their synthesizers and adding some saxophone and guitar, they recorded the 'Alcool'/ 'Amazone' 7 - " in 1985 and the 'DS'/' El Gato' 7 - " in 1986. Between 1986 and 2001 X RAY POP released many albums on record labels such as Sound Of Pig, EastWest and RRR.

Poems From France (1986), Welcome To My Guinea Pig's Box (1987), Dirty Love (1987), Psychedelik Dolls (1987), Cosmofuzz Balroom (1988), Musky Muscle (1989), Zouka Land (1998) Absolutely Nice (1999), Surrealistic Pilot (2001).

Their songs are short, concise and well structured; richly textured, moving at a quick speed with hardly a pause. The demos show a sense of humor, vitality and carefree playfulness.

Zouka's pouting, tongue-in-cheek vocals (sung in French) come together for a catchy, sensuous, danceable, eccentric psychedelic ride. Reminiscent of the Mo-dettes, early OMD or Algebra Suicide, X RAY POP could be the missing link to Stereolab.

Xymox, later known as Clan of Xymox, was founded in Nijmegen, a city in the east of the Netherlands, in 1983 by Ronny Moorings (Vocals, Guitars, Synthesizers) and Anka Wolbert (Vocals, Bass). Ronny saved up to buy a TEAC 144 four-track tape recorder and the duo relocated to Amsterdam in April of 1983.

They began to record songs utilizing a Yamaha CS-15, Korg MS-10 and MS-20, a BOSS Dr. Rhythm DR-55, guitar and effects pedals. Layering drone-like tones of monophonic synthesizers over tape loops, rhythm tracks, guitar, and bass, they created a unique fusion of lush psychedelia and dark, angular atmospherics.

The result was a 5-song EP, Subsequent Pleasures, was released in 1984 and limited to 500 vinyl copies. It was a precursor to the dark wave sounds of their self-titled debut LP on 4AD Records, which was released the following year. At the time, Anka was designing silk-screened posters for a music venue called Oktopus. She based the sleeve design on a drawing she had done of Ronny lying in the grass that summer and used some cutouts and details of other photos. Today, the record is highly sought after by collectors. One song from the EP, Muscoviet Musquito, was later re-recorded for the compilation album Lonely Is An Eyesore released by 4AD in 1987.

All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. All jackets have been silk-screened with pink and grey paint, using the original plates Anka created in 1984. Each copy includes a fold-out pink newsprint poster with never before seen photos of the band, lyrics and liner notes by Anka and Ronny.
